My first ballet-sleeping beauty

If you are looking for a young child’s first visit to the theatre, then My First Ballet-Sleeping Beauty at Oxford’s New Theatre is well worth going to. It is a colourful and spellbinding show for all the family. This event is specifically tailored for children with a running time of just 1 hour 30 minutes.

Children will be mesmerised by the glitter of the tiaras, costumes and the dancing, which really reflected the spirit of the tale. It will be for many young children their first exciting experience, with ballet performers in their tutus and pointe shoes, engaging in various numbers.

This English National Ballet‘s production has a narrator to help the young audience follow the classic story of Aurora and her true love’s kiss, and is accompanied by a shortened version of Tchaikovsky’s beautiful melodies.

Performed by second-year students of English National Ballet School, English National Ballet’s My First Ballet series has been enjoyed by over 290,000 people since its creation in 2012.

Although at times the music was a bit loud, this is definitely a kid friendly show for all the family. In fact many children in the audience were astonished by this spectacular event. It is well worth attending this ballet.
