ClimateCare has reduced carbon emissions by 33 million tonnes and improved 34 million lives, delivering $10.6 billion of value for people and the planet. This is an additional 16 million tonnes of CO2 cut and an additional 22 million lives improved since the organisation won its first Queen’s Award in 2014.

ClimateCare’s trademark Climate+Care approach to cutting carbon and improving lives is attracting an increasing number of long term private and public sector clients, who want to find practical ways to deliver real results for people and the environment. And today ClimateCare announces stretching new targets to scale action even faster – aiming to cut 50 million tonnes of CO2 and improve 50 million lives by 2025.

To achieve this goal the organisation is expanding fast, welcoming new partners from across the energy and travel sectors in particular.

To support this expansion, ClimateCare has appointed a new CEO, Vaughan Lindsay, with a history of leading profit with purpose companies to work alongside Executive Chairman Edward Hanrahan who continues to oversee the business and work closely with government and policy makers as frameworks surrounding carbon markets develop.

Edward Hanrahan said:

“Winning a second Queen’s Award is a staggering achievement. When we set our 2020 targets, we did not know how, or if they were achievable. That we have already exceeded our carbon reduction target two years early, is testament to the dedication and commitment of the whole ClimateCare team, who have continued to drive our government and business partners to take action on climate change today.

I think the tide is turning. Climate change is evident on a daily basis and we are seeing more and more organisations aware of their climate responsibilities. I’m delighted that with this momentum we are able to take ClimateCare to the next level of impact and welcome the addition of Vaughan Lindsay to the team, to help us manage that growth”

Vaughan Lindsay said

“I’m thrilled to join such an inspirational team that is delivering real results for people and the planet. Through my background in impact investing I’ve seen the power of Profit with Purpose business models like ClimateCare and this award is evidence of what true sustainable business can achieve. I look forward to growing the expert team and encouraging more organisations to join us as we tackle climate change in a way that makes long term, sustainable business sense.”
